What is a wall washer?

How dramatic is the pattern?
Two distinct cones sweep up and down from the disc, meeting at the fixture. On a textured wall the effect is strong; on smooth painted plaster it reads as two crisp triangles of light.
Which colour should I choose?

Is 7W enough?
For a wall washing effect, yes. The point is contrast between the lit beams and the darker wall, and higher output would flatten that. It is an accent fixture rather than a room light.
