Can it be fully exposed outdoors?
Yes. IP65 means it is protected against dust ingress and against water jets from any direction, which covers rain and hosing down. That is a higher rating than the IP44 used on indoor bathroom fittings.
What makes the seal work?
A rubber sealing ring closes the housing, which is what keeps water out of the electronics. Do not overtighten or damage that ring during installation, as it is the fixture's main defence.
Is it bright enough outdoors?
At 6W it is a background and accent light: it grazes a courtyard wall or marks a corridor rather than floodlighting an area. For a driveway or security use, choose something with far higher output.
Why does high CRI matter outside?
