What does 235 degrees of rotation let me do?
It is more than a half turn, so from a single fixed wall position you can point the shade straight down onto a book, straight up to bounce light off the ceiling, or out into the room - and change your mind later without re-drilling. That flexibility is the main reason to choose this over a fixed sconce.
Is a bulb included?
No - the fixture takes a standard E14 small Edison screw lamp, which is not supplied. E14 bulbs are widely stocked in UK supermarkets and hardware shops, so you can pick the wattage and colour temperature that suits the room.
Is it bright enough to read by in bed?
That is exactly what the rotating head is for - angle it down towards the page and you get directed light without illuminating the whole room. Because you supply the E14 bulb yourself, you can choose a brighter lamp if you read a lot, or a lower-output warm one if you want it mainly for atmosphere.
Why white glass rather than clear?
The shade is opal white and high-transmission, so it hides the bulb and spreads the light evenly instead of letting a filament shine through. You get brightness without a visible hot spot - a comfortable, glare-free glow that suits mounting at eye level in a corridor.

How do I clean the white glass shade?
Wipe with a soft dry cloth once the bulb is cool. Opal glass hides dust better than clear glass, but it does pick up smears, so avoid touching it with damp hands and never use abrasive cleaners on the shade or the rustproof metalwork.
