What does the 3D moon texture do to the light?
The moulded crater relief is not just cosmetic. Every ridge and hollow scatters the LED output at a slightly different angle, so the surface lights unevenly like a real moon - brighter on the raised areas, shadowed in the craters - and no single bright spot reaches the eye. It is a softer, more textured light than the plain round ball version gives.

The three share the same 20W LED and colour switching but look quite different lit. Flick the wall switch off and straight back on to advance through the three settings: warm white 3000K, neutral white 4500K, then cool white 6000K. Nothing else is needed - no remote, dimmer or app.
How do I clean a textured surface like this?
Dust collects in the craters far more than on a smooth shade, and that dust is what dulls the lunar relief effect. Use a soft dry brush or a dry make-up brush to lift dust out of the recesses, then a soft dry cloth over the raised areas. Do not use damp cloths or sprays on the resin.
Which finish looks most like a real moon?
White reads closest to a realistic lunar disc and shows the crater shadows most clearly when lit. Black gives a dramatic, graphic silhouette against a pale wall, and gold turns the piece into a warmer decorative feature rather than a literal moon.
