How does the 3-step colour temperature switching work?
The colour is changed from your existing wall switch rather than a remote or app. Flicking the switch off and straight back on steps the light through 3000K warm white, 4500K neutral white and 6000K cool white, then back to the start, so you can go from an evening warm glow to a brighter working light without any extra hardware.
Can I replace the bulb when the LED reaches end of life?
No, the 16W LED is integrated into the fixture rather than fitted into a socket. That is what allows the slim sealed profile and the even glow along the acrylic ring, but it does mean the light source is not user-replaceable.
Why acrylic for the ring and glass for the globe?
Acrylic can be formed into a continuous curved light guide that carries the LED evenly around the ring with no visible dots or hot spots, which glass in that shape cannot do as cleanly. The globe is frosted glass because glass gives a crisper, more substantial diffused sphere alongside it.
Is it bright enough to be the only light in a room?
At 16W of LED across two lit elements it is substantial for a wall fixture, and the 6000K cool-white setting gives its most usable working light. It is still designed as an accent and ambient piece, so in a larger room it works best alongside a main ceiling light.
